Why change your NDIS plan manager?

You have the right to work with a plan manager that suits you and provides the services you need. Your plan manager is a trusted member of your support team and you can choose an NDIS plan manager that’s right for you.

There could be a few reasons you might want to change your plan manager.

  • You want greater control over your funds with customisable approvals
  • You want to work with a plan manager that processes requests quickly and accurately
  • You’re looking for a plan manager that has tools to let you see your budgets and invoice history at any time, with the touch of a button
  • You prefer a plan manager who answers calls promptly, and is able to help you the answers and support over the phone.
  • It may also be simply that your needs have changed and you’d like a fresh start.

Three easy steps to change your NDIS plan manager

Once you’ve done your research and selected the new plan manager, it’s really easy to switch.

It’s important to check that they are able to act as your NDIS plan manager. For example, they must be registered as a provider with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

You can switch plan managers at any time. You don’t have to wait until the end of your plan or the end of the month. You have the right to choose an NDIS plan manager that’s right for you.

Follow this step-by-step guide to switch NDIS plan managers.

1. Contact the new plan manager and let them know you’d like to join

Your new NDIS plan manager will let you know the best way to sign up.  These days most reputable plan managers have online sign-ups so you can be all signed up and ready to go in a few simple steps. You can also call and sign up over the phone.

2. Arrange to leave your current NDIS plan manager

If you already have an NDIS plan manager, let them know you’d like to move to a new plan manager. It’s also important to check the terms and conditions (T&Cs) on the service agreement you have with your current plan manager.  Some NDIS plan managers will let you go straight away, and some might hold you to the contract. Call them to clarify if you have questions.

3. Tell the NDIA that you are switching NDIS plan managers

Call the NDIA to tell them you are choosing to move to a new NDIS plan manager. A call speeds things up and makes sure things move quickly.  Even if you’re not sure if you have one of the old NDIS plans or the new ones with funding periods, the NDIA will be able to tell you.

During the call, it’s a good idea to ask for endorsement of your new NDIS plan manager. If you’re choosing All Plan Management as your new provider, you can give them our provider number when they ask you: 4050118856
